Joe Burgum is an entrepreneur and community builder who is committed to making Fargo one of the greatest cities on earth.

As the founder of Folkways, a community-building collective dedicated to nurturing the region's culture creators, Joe organized the Red River Market; successfully lobbied to bring the ride-sharing service Uber to North Dakota; and has facilitated a course to help entrepreneurs launch local businesses called Co.Starters

Currently, Joe serves on Fargo’s Liquor Control Task Force – a team working to make liquor licenses more accessible for business owners – and was previously involved in the City Hall Site Selection Committee. Whether it’s by activating neglected urban areas through projects like Alley Fair or Christkindlmarkt, offering warmth through his Mobile Sauna, or nurturing his neighborhood as the Hawthorne Neighborhood Association President, Joe is constantly initiating new ways for residents to build the community they'd love to live in.
